Fitness and Tips

People always ask me  questions about fitness and exercises. Once in a while, I am able to share with people about the importance on fitness. I am here to share some of my personal experiences and thoughts on fitness and health.

To tell the truth, I used to hate exercises so much. I remembered I was a “big” guy during high school. The only class that I didn’t enjoy was the PE class. I made sure I found the ways to get out of running the laps or doing the weightlifting. I was not a fan of being sporty. Back then, I never hung out with the people who exercised or played sports. I thought they didn’t mean anything to me. As the fate would have it, 6 years ago, I moved from China to US.  The entire new life was in front of me. I never set my foot in the gym until then. I played basketball with some stranger in the gym. After 30 minutes, I felt my life was over. I was running out of breath and couldn’t clearly enunciate a word. One of the guys who was about my age told me, ” buddy. You need to get into shape. You are so young and don’t let the the youth slip away. You only can be 20 once!” That’s the moment where I made my decision that I was going to get back in shape.

I know some of you might have experienced the same thing as I did. As the saying goes, ” It is easier said than done.”  At the beginning of my workout program, I was dying. Any minute, I was ready to give up and walk away from these “torture.” However, when I looked at myself in the mirror and I didn’t feel confident at all. I was so fearful about going out. I couldn’t resist the temptations on eating food after 10pm. However, I had to remind myself about the principles on being healthy and truly making changes.

One year later, the results was significant. Believe it or not, I lost 85 pounds and I fell in love with fitness and health. I started to share my stories with friends and family. One of the best lessons I learned during the periods is the power of persistence. Persistence produces miracles. It is easy to give up. It is easy to postpone it. However, have you thought about what would happen if you stick to the end? What would happen if we fight through the “pain and struggle”? As the Chinese saying goes, ” One will never know what’s winning until the person gets cut on the face.” That means winning is not easy. Bu the will to win is everything. Friends, give yourself a chance to win.

There are millions of people around you might tell you that you don’t have a chance. That’s because they are afraid of trying. There are people who don’t believe in miracles, that’s because they made the choice to stop trying. When we persist,  the power is coming back up. When we persist, we are ready to come back and fight the battle at a higher level. So, let’s tell you today : Set a goal to fight. Start to activate your will and make it real!
